Chef Ayelet was born and raised in Israel, where she was greatly influenced by her grandparents’ cooking and her home country cuisines. She is also inspired by fresh ingredients in traditional Israeli cooking and has a passion for spreading the flavours of Israel.

Introducing Guest Performer Van Chan

Talented local singer-songwriter, Van Chan is the lead vocalist of the Hong Kong local band “Nowhere Boys”. Formed in 2014, Nowhere Boys is a group of independent musicians collaborating with each other in search of a new soft rock sound. Look out on our Facebook page for sneak previews of Van Chan’s performances with the Nowhere Boys.

As many of you might know that we have been #1 on Tripadvisor for our private dining and cooking workshop experience for sometime, we are super thankful and grateful to all of our locals and international supporters. In order to carry on our mission to bring more healthy and allergy-free homey foods to the public, we are re-launching Urban Health Home Kitchen as Urban Health Pop-Up Kitchen.

We will be organizing a launch party on March 21, Saturday from 3pm – 5pm, at Opendoor Café and Courtyard. It is the time of the year where the Chinese get together to celebrate the spring festival, commonly known as Chinese New Year.

In this article, we look to provide insights to how we can celebrate Chinese New Year with the traditional Chinese food but cooked in a healthy way.

The recipe which we are introducing is a traditional Cantonese dish: “Dried oysters with black moss and mushrooms” (蠔豉髮菜冬菇).

Wow… In just a blink, a year is coming to an end and the beginning of a brand new one is upon us! Urban Health has turned ONE, and it has been an amazing journey so far.

Looking back to the beginning: From coming up with our name, purpose and aim to starting Urban Health; transforming what originally was simply a habit and personal interest into a business; expanding and spreading the love from a Facebook support group to the wider public; offering a space for local and world travelers to come enjoy safe, gluten free, allergy free dining experiences and cooking workshops; and striving to provide informative content to educate and bring more special diets to people everywhere…

Our aim was always simple enough, but it has not been an easy road.

None of the milestones along our journey would have been possible without the support of the like-minded friends we’ve met in the industry. Collaborating and sharing ideas with one another has been a big part of Urban Health’s growth and has made it one of the most rewarding years I’ve had personally!
